Close up profile portrait of young man in dark turtleneck sweater

Prompt

A young man with dark wavy hair shown in profile against a moody background.

Subject: A handsome young man with thick dark eyebrows and short dark wavy hair styled back from his forehead.

Clothing: He is wearing a dark grey ribbed turtleneck sweater that fits snugly around the neck and shoulders.

Action: The subject stands in a strict profile view facing left with a neutral, serious expression and eyes looking forward.

Environment: A solid studio backdrop featuring a smooth gradient shifting from deep purple at the bottom to muted grey at the top.

Lighting: Soft directional lighting illuminates the side of his face while casting subtle shadows on the back of his neck and shoulder.

Camera: Close-up portrait shot with a shallow depth of field that keeps the subject sharp while blurring the background slightly.

Description

This prompt is useful for creating minimalist editorial portraits, character concept art, and high-end menswear lookbooks. The combination of 'soft directional lighting' sculpting the profile against a 'smooth gradient shifting from deep purple to muted grey' ensures that the subject remains the focal point by using controlled shadow play rather than relying on complex environmental details.

Suggestions

Change 'dark wavy hair' to 'slicked back pompadour' for a more structured look.
Swap 'deep purple' for 'navy blue' to deepen the moody tone.
Adjust 'shallow depth of field' to 'medium depth of field' if you want more background context.
