Medium close up portrait of man with dark hair wearing sunglasses

Prompt

A close-up portrait of a man with dark hair and a beard wearing sunglasses and a white t-shirt.

Subject: A young man with thick dark curly hair, a full beard and mustache, and black rectangular sunglasses covering his eyes. He has a small hoop earring in his left ear.

Clothing: He is wearing a plain white crew-neck cotton t-shirt.

Action: He is looking slightly to the side with a neutral expression, his head turned slightly away from the camera.

Environment: The background is completely black and featureless, isolating the subject.

Lighting: Dramatic split lighting illuminates the right side of his face and neck in warm orange tones while the left side remains in cool blue shadow.

Camera: Shot with a medium close-up framing that captures the head and shoulders, using a shallow depth of field to keep the focus sharp on the face.

Style Details: High contrast photography with a cinematic color palette featuring strong teal and orange complementary colors.

Description

This prompt is useful for creating dramatic character portraits, album art concepts, and high-contrast editorial features. The combination of 'dramatic split lighting' with strong teal and orange complementary colors ensures that the subject remains highly visible against the featureless black background, preventing the image from looking flat or muddy.

Suggestions

Change 'white t-shirt' to 'black crew neck tee' for a more cohesive look.
Adjust 'warm orange tones' to 'deep gold' for richer skin highlights.
Swap 'medium close-up framing' for 'head and shoulders shot' for slightly more context.
