Medium shot portrait of young man in black turtleneck against void

Prompt

A young man with dark curly hair sits in a wooden chair against a black background.

Subject: A handsome young man with thick, wavy dark hair and light stubble on his face.

Clothing: He wears a tight-fitting black turtleneck sweater and dark trousers.

Action: He is seated with one arm resting on the back of the chair and his hand supporting his head, looking directly at the camera with a serious expression.

Environment: A solid black void background that isolates the subject completely.

Camera: Medium shot framed from the waist up, utilizing a shallow depth of field to keep the focus sharp on the face while softening the surroundings.

Lighting: Dramatic studio lighting creates high contrast, illuminating the left side of his face and hair while casting deep shadows on the right side to emphasize texture.

Style Details: High-contrast black and white photography with a cinematic mood and smooth skin texture rendering.

Description

This prompt is useful for creating dramatic character studies, minimalist editorial portraits, and high-concept album art. The combination of 'dramatic studio lighting' emphasizing the left side against the 'solid black void background' sculpts the subject by using deep shadows to articulate texture, which prevents the image from looking flat despite the simple composition.

Suggestions

Change 'dark curly hair' to 'slicked back wavy hair' for a different silhouette.
Swap 'wooden chair' for 'minimalist metal stool' to modernize the setting.
Adjust 'serious expression' to 'subtle contemplative gaze' for a softer mood.
