Close up of kea parrot perched on flowering branch against soft grey

Prompt

A vibrant kea parrot perched on a flowering branch against a soft grey background.

Subject: A kea parrot with golden-yellow and green scaly feathers, a dark curved beak, and a small black eye patch around the eye.

Action: The bird is perched calmly on a slender branch, gripping it with its claws while facing slightly to the left.

Environment: The scene features a flowering plant with bright red tubular blooms and dried brown bracts attached to a thin woody stem.

Camera: A close-up shot with a shallow depth of field that keeps the bird in sharp focus while blurring the neutral grey background.

Lighting: Soft, diffused natural light illuminates the scene from above, highlighting the texture of the feathers and casting gentle shadows on the branch.

Style Details: High-resolution wildlife photography with vivid color saturation and detailed feather texture.

Description

This prompt is useful for creating nature documentary stills, exotic pet features, and high-end ornithology prints. The combination of 'soft, diffused natural light' and the 'shallow depth of field' ensures that the vivid colors of the kea parrot remain the primary focus while the blurred neutral grey background prevents visual competition with the bright red tubular blooms.

Suggestions

Change 'golden-yellow and green scaly feathers' to include specific feather details like 'iridescent blue accents'.
Swap 'soft, diffused natural light' for 'rim lighting from the upper right' to add drama.
Adjust 'shallow depth of field' to specify a 'bokeh effect' for more abstract background separation.
